Programming Assistant
Location: Osgoode Township Historical Society and Museum, Vernon ON.
Wage: $11/hr, 7.5 hrs/day, 37.5 hours/week
Start Date: May 27th, 2014
End Date: August 31, 2014

The Osgoode Township Historical Society and Museum is seeking an organized and energetic individual for a 14 week summer work term. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with our ongoing programming as well as general museum opening and closing.

The ideal candidate:
-likes working with the public
-has good organizational skills and the ability to work independently
-has good oral and interpersonal skills

Heritage Garden Interpreter x 2
Location: Osgoode Township Historical Society and Museum
Wage: $11/hr,7.5 hrs/day, 30 hours/week
Start Date: May 27th, 2014
End Date: August 31, 2014

The Osgoode Township Historical Society and Museum is seeking an organized and energetic individual for a 14 week summer work term. The successful candidate will assist in creating a heritage garden on the museum grounds as well as providing interpretation for the site and displays, and other tasks as necessary.
The Heritage Garden Interpreter must be an effective, enthusiastic communicator who enjoys listening to and talking with people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds. Flexibility, good judgment, and the ability to work independently as well as within groups are additional skills for the successful candidate. The Interpreter will be asked to take initiative and work with other garden volunteers and staff to provide excellent visitor experiences. They must be flexible and creative problem-solvers. A background in teaching, storytelling, acting/performance, and/or public speaking is beneficial, as is an interest in gardening and landscape history.
Successful candidates will have prior garden experience in addition to excellent oral and written communication skills, and will be a dedicated and hardworking team player.
First Aid certification is an asset. This position requires your commitment for the duration of the season.
